Florida real estate policy 2026 takes center stage this week as Great American Realtors Days kicks off, bringing industry members to Tallahassee to focus on housing, property rights, and tax priorities for the upcoming legislative session.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Realtors® from across the state have gathered at the Capitol to deliver a unified message to lawmakers as the 2026 session begins: expand housing availability, continue funding proven homebuying and home-hardening programs, stabilize property insurance markets, and safeguard homeowner rights.

Great American Realtors Days (GARD), running Jan. 20–22, convenes Florida Realtors® members for policy briefings, strategic planning, and in-person meetings with legislators. The annual event highlights housing, taxation, property rights, environmental concerns, and insurance issues that are expected to shape Florida’s real estate landscape as bills move through the legislative process.

Throughout the session, Florida Realtors will closely track legislation related to housing supply, property taxes, insurance reform, homeowner protections, community standards, and professional regulation. These topics reflect persistent concerns for buyers, sellers, and property owners statewide and will remain in focus as debates continue in Tallahassee through the scheduled March 13 conclusion of the session.

Below are the primary policy priorities Florida Realtors will emphasize during the 2026 session. Members and stakeholders are encouraged to download or print the reference graphic for a concise overview of the issues shaping Florida’s real estate agenda.
